Maggie Becoming
"When I was 13, I had the amazing chance to perform Handel's Messiah at the National Theatre and Concert Hall with the Taipei Young Musician Orchestra. It was such a joyous experience, with lots of applause. What really stood out to me was seeing our conductor backstage, quickly swapping out of his tuxedo into more casual clothes.
I asked him why he was changing so fast, and he smiled and said, 'The music comes from God, and the glory belongs to God. If I stay in my tuxedo too long and bask in the applause, I might start thinking the glory is mine because of my hard work.' His words had a profound impact on me. That moment taught me a lot about humility and faith. It’s been a powerful reminder to stay grounded and use my talents as a way to honor God while growing in music and life."
"Music is a gratuitous and lavish gift from God, meant to bring us a joyful life, a life full of beauty. It is not necessary for survival, but it is good for life. Music is a very human way God helps us to grasp His love and the knowledge of salvation." ~ Marie Greenway
