Maggie Becoming

Maggie Chen_Piano Teacher.jpg

"When I was 13, I had the amazing chance to perform Handel's Messiah at the National Theatre and Concert Hall with the Taipei Young Musician Orchestra. It was such a joyous experience, with lots of applause. What really stood out to me was seeing our conductor backstage, quickly swapping out of his tuxedo into more casual clothes.

I asked him why he was changing so fast, and he smiled and said, 'The music comes from God, and the glory belongs to God. If I stay in my tuxedo too long and bask in the applause, I might start thinking the glory is mine because of my hard work.' His words had a profound impact on me. That moment taught me a lot about humility and faith. It’s been a powerful reminder to stay grounded and use my talents as a way to honor God while growing in music and life."

"Music is a gratuitous and lavish gift from God, meant to bring us a joyful life, a life full of beauty. It is not necessary for survival, but it is good for life. Music is a very human way God helps us to grasp His love and the knowledge of salvation." ~ Marie Greenway

Our Students Say

Sara Villanueva Maggie Chen Studio.jpg

"Over the past 12 years, I have had the privilege of taking piano lessons with Mrs. Maggie Chen. As a truly wonderful teacher, she taught me to fall in love with music and all that it has to offer. I can honestly say that every week I look forward to lessons at her studio because it gives me time to relax and express myself through art that I love. With her Steinway piano, and nearby location, visiting her studio has always been a pleasure that I hope all will be able to experience."

Our Parents Say

"Not only is Maggie Chen one of the most coveted piano teachers in the area, she is one of the kindest and most wonderful people I know. She isn't a typical boring piano teacher who pushes rote learning and repetitive scales practice, but instead, a dynamic and exciting one who elicits the best from each student holistically. She focuses on each student individually and is so accommodating to today's kids' schedules. My two children absolutely love Mrs. Maggie. I give her the highest recommendation possible."
