A Garden of Serenity

Roger and I got into planting David Austin English roses in the spring of 2020, and it’s been such a joy. We’ve really found a lot of meaning and inspiration in gardening. It’s amazing how waiting for our roses to grow and figuring out how to take care of them has so many parallels with life, work, and music. Watering might not sound glamorous—it’s a bit like practicing an instrument every day—but seeing those roses bloom is so worth it! The best part is seeing the smiles when I share them with neighbors, friends, and my students’ parents. I can spend hours just soaking in the beauty of our hard work. We feel a deep sense of contentment and feel God’s presence, knowing HE’s waiting for us to grow strong in faith and bloom beautifully in life.
